Episode 19: Bentron's Back Baby!!!

Wow, you can't belive how good it feels to be back on board. I feel like I've been riding this buckin' bronco known as Japan for the past twenty weeks, and it finally gave me a good kick or two, and I've been caught under the hooves of "laziness," "overtime," and being "sleep-deprived." Still, there's a good Rodeo Clown out there, so I'm back on top, I've gotta hold of the reins and I'm getting ready for a longer ride!!! Yosha!!!

Alright, so first thing to talk about. My baby's coming to Japan!!! SUBARASHI DESU YO!!! Laura (depicted here in an intense B&W picture with me) bought her ticket a few days ago, and she's going to be departing on my birthday from Toronto airport, heading up to the big Tokyo. From T-dot, to T-dot, her flight will probably take her around 17hrs, plus 13 hours time loss, which equals a big 30 hours. Yikes! Anywho, you can be sure that I'm planning a sick trip, and have been doing so for quite some time... still, I'm at a bit of a loss recently, seeing how the prices of international flights have gone up so drastically in the past month or two... apparently Japanese people have a special travel time for five days, basically right when she gets here... so that drives the costs up large. Much more than I anticipated... still, it may make for some sweet prices here in Japan, so we'll cook it up at some Ryokans (Japanese hotels), eat some Tacoyaki(fried octopus balls), and maybe even take in a Hanashin Tigers game. This'll be sweet, mochiron (for sure.)

Oh right, and about the fog in my mind that was the past couple weeks. I don't really know what to say about what went on, other than... a whole-flippin-lot! A little bit of travelling, overtime, late nights, bowling parties, paper work, archery, shift swaps, coffee at Starbucks (more than a few times), Japanese lessons, and to top it off, in one week I was at 3 all night-karaoke goodbye parties. One of those was a traffic light party, where you had to wear Green (if you were single), Yellow (if you had a crush/interested in someone), or Red (if you were taken/had a partner.) I didn't really have enough Red, so I wore pink instead, and a whole lot of it! Pink shirt, Pink Tie, and even a Pink Usugi kabuto (Pink Rabbit Helmet.) Some of the less sexually secure men at the party scoffed at my hat and appearance, but during my singing/performance of the Thong Song, I think I proved them wrong. (The picture on the left is of me after the all-night Karaoke in Ise... I'm in my GQ outfit, with new short hair, and some facial hair as well... and I certainly don't look impressed. The picture on the right is Hilarious! It's an All-night Karaoke/Car Rental store. Amazing combination, neh?)

As I mentioned previously, I've recently begun my new hobby of Archery. Yesterday morning was a very rainy day, but yet, it was still a good'un. We shot for the better part of an hour and a half, and tried not to get soaked. I'm still the worst archer of the four of us, but that being said, I'm not terrible! Just look at the picture! Those little babies are mine, and my bow didn't even have a sight! Go me... now if only I had shown the pictures of my missed shots... *sigh*...

Though this news seems slightly less important in comparison to Laura's arrival, it's still pretty big. Jon (pronounced Ju-on, lol) is back in town! Yes, his amazing trip back to Canada had to come to an end sometime, and now that he's back, he's a welcome part of the Central 21 family! He's even sporting some "Pepsi Nex" which though he seemed to enjoy, I rate a flat 5/10 in comparison with the next up and coming Pepsi product... Ice Cucumber... BARF!!! Seriously though, I had to buy one just to try it out. Cucumber flavoured pop? Who wouldn't gorge themselves on a bottle, or five? It tastes like it sounds... only more sweet.

Special thank you goes out to Ju-on (it means evil spirit) for his Canadian Maple cookies, the Skor Bars, and of course, a big thank you on behalf of everyone here for buying me some extra Deodorant.

Oh yeah, I went CD shopping and found this one. Nice title, eh?

Also, check out the wheels!!! I know I posted a while back about getting a scooter, but sadly guys, it ain't gonna happen. My liscence expires on my B-day this year, and I can't renew from here, so it's a no go. Still, I was able to live vicariously through my old co-worker Yumi-san, who has got this sweet ride right here. Take 'er out on a spin? You got it!!! VRROOMMM!!!

Did I ever mention how much I loved the train advertisements here in Japan? Absolutely priceless. (Please read these...)

Episode 18: Continued...

Okay, I lied. I had to work overtime on Wednesday, and didn't get time to post.
Thursday passed by like water in a sieve, and Friday I'm doing archery before work. I'm really hoping to get the post in Friday after work, so stay tuned, I swear it'll be up soon... and it'll be good.

-love & peace,
